How do they Make Fiberglass Insulation?

Heat constantly flows from a warmer area to a cooler area. Thus, no matter how warm you keep your house with radiators and another thing, if you do not insulate your home, the warm air from your home will be escaping outside. The same is applicable during summer seasons too, no matter how hard you try to cool your rooms with air conditioning, the hot air from the outside will enter your room.

Fiberglass Insulation

There are various ways you can keep your house warm, and you can use the olden technique of having a fireplace or use a thermostat to warm your house. But, instead of using all those you can insulate your home so that the heat which is inside your home can get trapped inside your house and keep you warm during the cooler seasons. Insulation not only traps heat during winter seasons but also keeps the house cool during the summer seasons.

By insulating you also get the dampening effect and the noise transfer from one room to another room is reduced. Many people feel that interior walls are unnecessary to insulate as you already have an external insulation and insulating the interior walls is just a waste of money. It again depends on your wish, if you feel that external insulation is not enough to keep your house warn then you can go on and insulate your interior walls too.

Fiberglass insulation reduces the spread of heat, sound and cold to the surrounding structures. Thus, it is one of the most effective insulation people use to insulate their house. It is best used for sealing the gaps near your windows, pipes, doors and other small openings in the house. The fiberglass may be a little expensive than the other insulation materials, but it is definitely worth its price. Fiberglass costs about $1.30 to $2.50 per square foot.

What do you mean by Fiberglass insulation?

The fiberglass has extremely fine glass fibers, the fiberglass is usually used in two different types of insulation, one is the blanket which has the batts and rolls, and the other one is the loose fill. The fiberglass insulation is also available in rigid boards and duct insulation. The Fiberglass insulation materials have a higher R-value. The R-value is the capacity of an insulation material to resist or prevent the flow of heat from one region to another region; So, higher the R-value the higher will be your insulation.

The fiberglass insulation works in such a way that it keeps your rooms warm in winter and cool in summer.  These fiberglasses are made up of small glass fibers which are reinforced by plastic the glass fiber gives the plastic additional strength and support, and this increases the insulation capacity of the material.

You also need to be very careful when you handle fiberglass as if the tiny glass particles come in contact with your hands it may injure you. You also might need a professional to do the insulation work for you if you happen to use glass fiber.
